Which brings us to the name – “Lakeview.” One would think the name represents a view of Lake Michigan, however this is not the case. The name is a reference to the Hotel Lake View, built in 1854. This historic hotel can be seen at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Sheridan Road.
